Now this I think is the only strategy game for Game Boy Advance. Sadly, the only games I have on my pc are strategy games.  Therefore, when I heard about Advance Wars coming I instantly knew that this was a game I needed.  Well making a strategy game for a handheld system is actually very hard.  I wasn’t expecting much from this game, but I got a heck of a lot out of this!

The story of the game is basic.  There are four main countries in the terrortory.  Orange Star (you), Blue Moon, Yellow Comet, and Green Earth.  You are going to become the first advisor for the Orange Star Army and you must defeat te other places.  First you can go through the easy Field Training and then go through the campaign, war room, or vs. mode.  You can also go and make your own maps, and see your stats. Also Advance Wars is four players so you can play with your friends.

In Advance Wars you are an advisor and you must train and command the armies along with your fellow Commander Officer’s.  You have to take your armies through mountains, forest, sea, plains, and know how to assemble to get your enemy where it hurts.  You must know your own weaknesses and strengths plus your enemies weaknesses and strengths! Of course as you go through the battlefield you will lose some men, but you must get through no matter what.

The graphics for the games could be improved. The graphics are  very simple, but not terrible.  I wish it was just a little more detailed in the battlefield and in the animations. The sound effects are pretty cool, but like the music it will get very repetitive. It is okay though, compared to other gba games. The gameplay couldn’t be better! I think this game is worth the value only $30 compared to most games priced at $35. Overall if you like strategy and war games even a bit you need Advance Wars! 9.7 (best score for a Game By Advance Game yet)
